David has been teaching driver education since 1993. He was a driver education instructor for the Wichita Public School District the two years leading up to USD259 eliminating the program. David has taught numerous summer driver education classes including three summers for Emporia State University where he worked in teacher education, assisting and monitoring teachers getting their certification to teach driver education.

David has a background in safety working 10 + years as a Firefighter and an EMT for the City of Emporia. He worked numerous collision and accident scenes and with his fellow firefighters provided patient care and ambulatory transport to area hospitals. David's duties there also included working on the rescue truck and when necessary, extricating vehicle crash victims. Additionally, he provided community service by teaching CPR and First Aid classes. David now uses his background and experience to help students understand the serious nature and responsibility they have while driving and riding in the car.

David and his wife Lindsay live in Wichita and are both employed by USD 259.
